Origin

Many different varieties of Trichoderma have been found worldwide. These were examined closely in the 1980s by researchers from Cornell University in the USA. Research was also carried out into their effectiveness against soil-borne diseases.

After a selection process, two strains were singled out as having very good disease-resistance properties. One strain works extremely well at high temperatures and in dry conditions, while the other works best in cold and moist conditions. These two strains were cross-bred, and the result was Trianum. This is a hybrid Trichoderma harzianum strain T-22 with the following unique characteristics:

  • effective against a great many soil-borne diseases
  • grows fast and effectively on roots of all plants
  • effective in many different soil types at various temperatures and pH values
