Chrysanthemum
The main soil-borne diseases are:
- Fusarium
- Pythium
- Rhizoctonia
- Verticillium
Give pathogens no chance in your steamed soil. Steaming rids your soil of soil-borne diseases ... but also rids it of beneficial micro-organisms. The lack of these micro-organisms means that pathogens can easily re-establish them in your soil.
Things generally go well until after the first crop. Infected root balls and other root remains left in the soil when the flowers are cut away will infect the new crop.
Use Trianum from the very first cultivation cycle, immediately after steaming. Pathogens are combated from the root. In this way you can avoid the spread of pathogens via the root remains.
As Trianum is still being tested on chrysanthemums, no advice is yet available. Trials are being carried out in combination with AAterra (etridiazole) for the duration of five cultivation rounds. The initial results of the trials are promising.
